Out of this only  Approx.10200 has been systematically explored through regional/Promotional drilling
Out of 10200 area only 22.5% area explored through detailed drilling.

Growth of coal production is 6.0% whereas demand fo pply gap has widened over the  at an average growth rate of 7% to 8% and demand suyears.


Significant increase in coal consumption of about 41% ring 1986-96  period 1996-2006 against previous 10 years period duwhich was about 16%.
