MNRE, Govt. of India to take up 3Super projects at a cost of Rs 900 Crs

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy ,Govt. of India  has proposed three projects at a cost of Rs 900 crs, in an attempt to increase power availability in remote and rural areas, and shore up the the government`s image. They are: An off-grid solar photovoltaic (PV) programme, off-grid solar water heating programme and national biogas and manure management programme (NBMMP).

The Off-grid solar photovoltaic (PV) programme will be supported primarily in project mode through the state renewable energy development agencies, state and central government organizations,

The Off-grid solar water heating programme will get 30% subsidy or loan at 5% on 80% of the benchmark cost. The NBMMP is being implemented following a multi-agency approach through state nodal departments, state renewable energy department agencies and by Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), at the national level.
